The Shrimp Tank brings you interviews with some of the most successful business owners in the United States to learn the do’s and don’ts of starting and running a successful business. Then, the fun really starts when we bring in high school and college students to pitch their business ideas to the Shrimp Tank. We don’t fund any business, but we do teach kids how to turn their business ideas into a successful business.
Jason Hill / Client Focused Advisors
Jason is the founder and president of Client Focused Advisors, a financial service company with over 1000 clients based in New York & South Florida. The firm was named as a finalist for the third consecutive year in Signator Investors, Inc.’s “Practice of the Year” competition, sponsored by Fidelity Clearing & Custody Solutions, for the firm’s excellence in key areas of practice management, client service, and overall practice performance. Jason has been featured in multiple publications, such as the Wall Street Journal & Forbes, highlighting his forward-thinking approach that incorporates technology within the advisory space.
Jason graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from the University of Delaware. He was raised in Port Washington, NY and he enjoys boating, sports and the outdoors. Jason currently resides in Parkland, FL with his wife and two children.
Kevin Cox / Florida Atlantic University
Kevin Cox has a Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship from Florida Atlantic University’s College of Business. Prior to pursuing his Ph.D., Kevin received his degree in Management, with minor in Entrepreneurship as well as a Master of Science in Entrepreneurship from the University of Florida. Currently, he serves as the Assistant Director for the Adams Center for Entrepreneurship at FAU, Entrepreneurship Professor, instructor for the new venture accelerator at FAU’s Tech Runway, instructor for FAU’s entrepreneurship bootcamp, manager/instructor for FAU’s Veterans Florida Entrepreneurship Program, and Faculty Adviser for FAU’s student entrepreneurship club, Owls Inc. To date Kevin has taught, mentored, and worked with over a hundred startups providing expert advice and consultation support the survival, growth, and performance of these early stage businesses. He has also published multiple research papers and book chapters, as well as dozens of conference papers on entrepreneurship.
Roland Kidwell / Florida Atlantic University
Roland Kidwell is DeSantis Professor of Management and department chair of Management Programs in the College of Business at Florida Atlantic University. He is also director of the Adams Center for Entrepreneurship at FAU. He has taught courses in management, new ventures, entrepreneurial management and family business at the undergraduate and MBA levels. His research currently focuses on family firms. This research includes issues such as leadership succession, dysfunctional behavior, executive compensation and corporate governance in family firms, and productive/unproductive entrepreneurship. He has also worked with students and entrepreneurs to develop business plans and strategic plans, and to compete in business plan competitions. His research has been published in several leading academic and practitioner journals, and he serves on three journal editorial boards. Dr. Kidwell has held visiting teaching and/or research positions in Australia, Norway and France, and has held faculty appointments at the University of Wyoming, Niagara University and LSU-Shreveport. For 11 years, he worked as a newspaper reporter and then city editor of the Roanoke (Va.) Times. He has a PhD in Business Administration from Louisiana State University. He is certified as a Family Business Advisor through the Family Firm Institute.

He was a former Group Vice President for Ameriprise Financial and the youngest Vice President in American Express Financial Advisors history. In 2008 Ted founded Atlanta based oXYGen Financial, a financial services company focused on serving the X and Y Generation. oXYGen Financial now has more than 2,500 clients and manages over 450 million dollars. Ted has been quoted in more than 75 publication and newspapers including being a featured columnist for the Wall Street Journal The Experts and appearing frequently on CNN’s Headline News Weekend Express. He runs one of the top 15 personal finance blogs in the country www.yoursmartmoneymoves.com, and is one of the top 10 social media financial advisors in the country according to Brightscope. Lee R. Heisman / Savant Comprehensive Technologies
Lee R. Heisman is the owner and CEO of Savant Comprehensive Technologies, My School Pool and Ask a Privacy Officer. Prior to this, Lee was the founder and CEO of H and W Printing and Brainstorm Design Works, a full advertising agency and commercial printing firm located in Atlanta, GA. He has a Master Degree from Rutgers University and is on the Advisory Board of the KSU Entrepreneurial Center. Lee has sold 2 of his previously owned businesses over the years through mergers and acquisition. Before launching his Entrepreneurial Career, Lee was a Licensed Physical Therapist in New Jersey for over 3 years.
